Christmas

The most valuable gift on Christmas
We can't hide the truth that much of our giving is done because it’s a Christmas tradition. We don’t ask why we do it, we just do it. Sometimes we give only because someone else bought a gift for us and we feel obligated to buy a gift in return. I remember when I was in Elementary we had our christmas party wherein we exchanged gifts in our class, we felt the excitment in waiting for our name to be called. All of them were called but no name joyce was heard. I cried because I expect to receive a gift in exchange of the fifty peso amount of gift that I bought. The teacher told me that the person who was supposed to give m the gift was absent. I cried and told my mom about it. The next day my classmate apologized and his reason for not being present on our christmas day s just because his father died. I felt ashamed and guilty. I was expecting for just a material thing to receive not knowing that it is not that important.
Giving gifts without giving ourselves is a kind of tradeoff. It may not even be giving at all. To love is to give yourself. That’s the whole point of Christmas. And so, in our giving this Christmas may we first thank God for his gift of love to us, and give of ourselves to our loved ones before giving them material gifts.
God’s gift of divine love and the gift of yourself are of more value than all the money or treasures in the world. They’re free. They’re already yours.
Exchanging gifts is one of the traditions that most of us observe on Christmas, this is a wonderful way for family and friends to mark this time of year. But what we must all remember is that these tradition, enjoyable as it is ultimately have nothing to do with the true meaning of giving on Christmas. The true meaning is that the most valuable gift on this christmas is yourslf, your love and not those material things.

The color of the text font is also timely -- red and green :-)

i love christmas and i guess everybody loves it too. why does sharing and giving during christmas feels good? maybe because it's our tradition and we are used to that. it's happy to see people giving and sharing even if they are in need too. during christmas people are being together and it's our nature to give aguinaldo. but why does people just have to wait for christmas to do things voluntarily? if it's not christmas, people can't share, donate and give some things to other people who are in need. i hope people doesn't have to wait foe christmas because anytime and anywhere, we are always welcome to share and give..

personally, before the celebration i loved most is christmas because all is happy and everyone receives gifts from their loved ones. but, since i came here in the philippines and i was separated from my parents, and my whole family, i started to hate it in some ways. the greatest gift i would like to receive from god for every christmas is to be with my family and loved ones. yes, i am also happy because i am with loving people in this country but it will be happier if i will also celebrate this birth of Christ with the people whom i love and who really love me. i am happy also for other people when they receive gifts from other people that is why during christmas, i also give gifts to other people. i know they are becoming happy for that.

Yuletide Seasonis the well spend season in our country. Filipinos just love Christmas; the ambience of somewhat cool breeze of the wind and the warmth-friendly feeling we easily give. Perhaps now that life is never that easy, giving gifts is not that well practiced anymore but for those who can afford, I still suggest to do it. It’s not that material things matter, but what is within that gift is the thought, that person remembers you and gave extra effort to find a present that fits you. Hence, gifts doesn’t necessary mean to be expensive, there are other ways to find valuable gifts like a simple letter that encompass all the message you want to tell the person.

hi there joyce, i am sure that you are somehow tired because of the rehearsals you have in the performing arts. well, for me, the greatest gift i would like to receive next christmas, since christmas is past, is love from a very special person inmy life. that's all, nothing anymore i could ask for if i'll have that. i want to be loved and to love of course. i want to care and be cared by others as well. anyway, enough of my sentiments, i just wish you will receive in the coming days, the greates gift ever, someone could ever receive.

Angsad naman ng story. Medyo nanlaki ng panandalian yung mga mata ko. “When you give, you give because you want to give” and “When you help, you help because you want to help”. Hirap nun tsong!
